Being mindful always makes us more productive in whatever we are doing. We manage to spend most of our time being mindless though. Practicing the Alexander Technique in what ever activity you choose automatically makes you more mindful.
Running mindfully really helps you continually improve your style and come back to the present. Coming back to your breathing and noticing your body’s suspension in your stride is a key area. Upon returning from a mindful run I am more revitalised than if I ran mindlessly.
You do not get this and then leave it, you re-invent your running style by renewing your thoughts of these principles which allows you to revisit the present moment. This also applies to your daily activities. It is not about trying to be like this all the time but discovering that you are not and then applying the technique again. So you loose it and then discover it again.
Upon returning from a mindful run I am more revitalised than if I ran mindlessly.
